The ground falls out beneath you. You're in midair, you're surrounded by swirling clouds, and there's nowhere stable to put your feet. The space between your body and the turbulence around you feels poorly defined as well; where do you end and your surroundings begin? Is there a stable you in the first place?

The man looks up. "How will you pay," he begins, but then he stops and considers Eliot. "Are you one of the actors?"

That's right. Which means I get in free, all right? And I get to bring a guest.

[snorts quietly but doesn't say anything]

"I suppose," the ticket-taker says, frowning a little.

So here's my guest [indicates Dick] and we'll take two tickets for each. You know, in case we change our minds.

He doesn't actually hand out any tickets; he just gestures for the two of you to enter the theater. "Go ahead."

This is a strange theater.
