First impressions for Rena?

Bucky is mostly immensely endeared to her as someone sweet and cute and possibly in need of protection! It helps that although he doesn't remember it, he actually did have a little sister whose entire life he pretty much totally missed in canon.

The future implications of her being someone essentially manipulated into violence by forces largely outside of her control are also interesting for their CR, although I don't know if that would ever come up.

Like I said above, Bucky is pretty easily falling into a big brother role to the teenage girls he meets in Aather--whether because of subconscious associations with the little sister he never got the chance to be a big brother for in canon or whatever. It's hard to tell, since he didn't really interact with many teenage girls in canon.

In Jade's case, he likes her and wants to help her out, but he's also just a little bit wary because she's come closer than some of the others to seeing through him, like...telling him he shouldn't try to be Steve? He laughed that off but of course he is doing something similar, if not exactly that.

bucky's feelings about trisha

He honestly doesn't know what to feel about T. On the one hand he seems like he has good or at least understandable intentions--he just wants to be liked and accepted, which is something Bucky can kind of, if not completely, identify with. On the other hand he also seems very wrong. Like, seriously.

Bucky also wants to get a good impression of Trisha because he's Ruby and the rest of Ruby has made a good impression on him. But more and more he just thinks Trisha is just...really screwed up in ways he can't quite put his finger on. For now, he's going to try to babysit him.

Bucky isn't entirely sure what to make of Dick! He's glad that there's another person here versed in the ways of superheroes; it makes him feel a bit less alone. At the same time, though, he gets the impression that Dick's troubled by a lot of things he's not actually speaking about, and that makes him worry for the future of superhero-types in Aather.

He's also curious about what those things troubling Dick are, but he of all people understands the need to put on a front of being Okay, so he's not going to push it for now, especially since Dick is obviously another Adult In A World Of Kids Who Need Mentoring. It's their job to cram their feelings down and help out those kids, obviously.

How's Maribelle handling the knowledge that she knows a JRPG final boss?

She is...conflicted.

Maribelle is a very devoted person! Once she gives her loyalty to someone, she doesn't back down, no matter how the rest of the world sees them, and in fact is liable to see others who doubt them as unworthy of their greatness. And she's given her loyalty to Van here.

But...she's also very smart, and she knows there's a great deal of his past that she doesn't know, and she has no reason to doubt his assertion of having done very bad things, the kind of things she would have been fighting against in her world. It's that part that bothers her--the idea that she might have to fight against him at some point.

But he seems to be genuine in his desire to prevent something like that from happening, so she's going to trust in that for now.
